Artist Biography

Southern California-based artist Charmaine Olivia lives a truly dynamic life – she’s a talented oil painter and also a skillful yoga instructor. She creates amazing oil artworks that are playful, fun, and full of poetic allure.

Charmaine’s portraiture of beautiful and liberated women is fused with otherworldly aspects as well as spirituality, which ensure that each one of her pieces is memorable, with a unique and hypnotizing appeal. Charmaine loves to play with colors and she considers herself a modern explorer interested in philosophy, spirituality, love, science, and all living beings.

Her illustrations, photographs and paintings have appeared in publications, museums, galleries and private collections all over the world. Some of her clients and projects include Urban Outfitters, Lady Gaga, Hallmark, Vans Shoes, Element, Nylon Magazine and Burton.

Your paintings are so vibrant and raw. Where do you find your inspiration?

A lot of my inspiration comes from my own processing of emotions/life…I use painting as a type of self-exploration / therapy. Painting helps me get
in touch with my inner world, helps me discover things about myself and allows me to work through different thoughts, problems, patterns, ways of
being…it’s like a mirror of your mind.
